Former Celtic striker Walker has suggested that the Glasgow giants signed 19-year-old midfielder Kouassi in the January transfer window in order to boost their chances of playing in the Champions League next season.
According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic had to pay £2.8 million as transfer fee in order to secure the services of the youngster.

“He’s got bags of potential,” Walker told Ladbrokes.com about Kouassi. “I think he’s a signing made with one eye on the Champions League.
Sky Sports pundit suggests a weakness in Tottenham Hotspur squad
“Celtic did well to reach the Group Stage this season, but they conceded quite a few goals along the way, and I think having an imposing midfielder with experience in Europe – which Eboue already does – will mean he really comes into his own in these continental ties.
“He’s cost £2m, but he has all his best years ahead of him, and I think it will look like a bargain fee when we see his potential shining through in the Champions League.”

Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 70 points from 24 matches.
The Hoops are 27 points clear of second-placed Aberdeen and Rangers, who are currently second and third respectively in the standings.
Brendan Rodgers’s side will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Celtic Park in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup.
