Peter Crouch claimed that reported West Ham target, Marko Arnautovic, is a ‘loose cannon’ following his wild celebrations at Euro 2020, as he told Crouchy’s Year-Late Euros on BBC One.

The former West Ham player came off the bench to help Austria to a 3-1 win against North Macedonia on Sunday and then proceeded to lose his head a little during the celebrations, which was seemingly aimed at Leeds United’s Ezgjan Alioski.

Crouch played with the aggressive-natured forward during their days at Stoke City, before his move to West Ham.

And the former England international shared these thoughts on the player and joked that he is the only player he knows whose ‘dream’ it was to play in China.

“Charlie (Adam), we know him well, we played with him at Stoke,” said Crouch. “This sums him up, no (his celebrations)?

“You know what. He is a great lad, first and foremost. But a bit of a loose cannon. But he is the only player I think whose dream was to play in China.

“He had been dropped (for that game), so knowing Marko, he would have been fuming about that. Great lad. He gets bad press. And I loved playing with him.”

TalkSport have claimed that Arnautovic is seemingly on West Ham’s summer wishlist and a potential reunion with David Moyes could be on the cards.

Arnautovic didn’t exactly leave the London Stadium with everyone waving him goodbye because his move to China didn’t go down well with the West Ham supporters.

And given that the Hammers are now in Europe, and they don’t need a player like Arnautovic on their books, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the fans are against him returning.

Plus, he’s not getting any younger, so the versatile forward isn’t exactly going to be a long-term fix and that’s perhaps the road West Ham should be looking to go down.
