Marko Arnautovic on West Ham United’s striking shortlist this summer, TalkSPORT report on their Gameday podcast.

Reports have emerged suggesting that Arnautovic is on David Moyes’ radar, and they have now been backed up by an English source, as the Hammers look for a striker.

West Ham were unable to land a new number nine following Sebastien Haller’s departure in January, which has left a gaping hole in their squad.

And it seems that they could be looking to land a very familiar face.

There are a few murmurings that Marko Arnautovic would fancy a return to the London Stadium,” TalkSPORT transfer expert Alex Crook said.

“I think David Moyes would probably welcome that from what I’m told. I’m not convinced the fans and the owners would.”

Arnautovic left West Ham for China back in 2019, after an impressing stint with the club last time around.

If he was to return he would do so with a point to prove – as they way he forced his exit at the London Stadium still rankles some West Ham fans.

Good addition?

He could still be a smart signing, as a short-term option though.

Moyes likes a physical presence up top and Arnautovic would certainly offer him that.

Although he doesn’t possess the lightening pace of Michail Antonio, the Austrian is Premier League proven and is very comfortable in possession.

He also, perhaps, doesn’t get the credit for his pace that he deserves – just ask Mark Noble, who called him ‘so quick’ on the Peter Crouch podcast.

If West Ham could have the likes of Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals and Jarrod Bowen all lining up behind Arnautovic then they could be a very stylish team to watch next term.

And the return certainly looks appealing, as West Ham look to bolster their forward options and push on next campaign.
