Marko Arnautovic seemingly enjoyed himself on Sunday, albeit in an angry fashion, as the one-time West Ham man made his feelings clear towards Leeds United’s Ezgjan Alioski.
Austria locked horns with North Macedonia at Euro 2020 yesterday, and it seems as though there were some war-of-words between Arnautovic, who is now being linked with a return to West Ham, and Alioski during the game.
When Arnautovic scored for Austria – with two minutes left on the clock – to put his side 3-1 up, he aimed his celebration at Leeds United’s Alisoki.
The former West Ham forward was seen screaming and shouting at the Leeds player after he put the ball into the back of the net, before he had to be calmed down by his teammate David Alaba in a pretty hilarious fashion.
It drew a reaction from some supporters on Twitter, with a selection not surprised by Arnautovic seemingly losing his head because they have seen it before during his Premier League days.
Leeds fans will also be well aware that Alisoki likes to wind opposition up, so he must have done that in some capacity towards Arnautovic after he came on as substitute, hence his reaction after he scored.
TalkSport have reported that Arnautovic could return to the London Stadium this summer because he is on David Moyes’ summer wishlist.
A man of his character returning to the Premier League would no doubt light the place up, it’s just a shame that Alisoki is seemingly heading for the Leeds exit door because his contract is set to expire this month.
Either way, with West Ham looking for those attacking options, especially depth as they head into Europe, fans may just see Arnautovic return to their screens next season.
And if he does, just like yesterday, he will sure look to entertain all those watching.
Nonetheless, here is a selection of supporters reacting to Arnautovic and Alisoki seemingly beefing at Euro 2020 on Sunday:
