Joe Rodon is now pushing to leave Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer market with Everton and Roma reportedly showing an interest in the Wales defender’s availability.
That’s according to the Evening Standard, who note Rodon is ‘desperate’ to leave Spurs in his search of regular football. The 24-year-old has been starved of minutes since moving to north London from Swansea City under Jose Mourinho for £11m rising up to £15m in 2020.

Rodon has only amassed 24 appearances for the club across all competitions for a total of 1,333 minutes so far. He additionally made just 10 outings through the 2021/22 campaign, in which the 27-cap international turned out five times following Antonio Conte’s arrival.

Conte seldom trusted Rodon with occupying a presence in his plans, with the Welshman only playing eight Premier League minutes. Now, the centre-back is determined to secure a move away from north London to play far more regularly ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.
Rodon is open to accepting a loan transfer to leave Tottenham in the build-up to the Fifa tournament this winter. The Swansea-born enforcer has established himself as one of the first names on Rob Page’s teamsheet and is determined to fly to the Middle East in form.
Everton and Roma interested in Rodon as defender pushes to leave Tottenham
Clubs in England and abroad are showing an interest in Rodon, with the defender pushing to leave Tottenham this summer. Alex Crook reports Frank Lampard has marked the 2025 free agent as an option to strengthen his backline at Everton after they avoided relegation.

Mourinho is also interested in reuniting with Rodon one year after Spurs sacked the coach now in charge of Roma. Gianluca Di Marzio notes the Serie A side spoke with Tottenham’s managing director Fabio Paratici in June to discuss the centre-back’s potential availability.
Rodon was never a mainstay of Mourinho’s plans whilst the Giallorossi boss stood at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium helm. He started just nine of 13 outings after moving to the English capital from Swansea. Yet Mourinho still showered the defender with big praise.
“He’s perfect,” Mourinho said, via quotes by football.london last March. “Works very hard, young guy, wants to learn, very enthusiastic. He played already matches that represent a lot, he played important matches against some of the best teams.”
