Everton manager Frank Lampard wants to sign Tottenham Hotspur central defender Joe Rodon in the summer transfer window, according to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that Tottenham and Wales international centre-back Rodon is on the shortlist of players that Everton boss Lampard wants at Everton.

Sky Sports have previously reported that Everton are keen on signing English midfielder Harry Winks from Premier League rivals Tottenham in the summer transfer window.

Crook said on talkSPORT, as transcribed by TheBootRoom: “We know that Frank Lampard is keen on at least one Tottenham player in Harry Winks, maybe two.

“I’m told Joe Rodon is also on Frank Lampard’s shortlist so there could be some kind of swap deal.”

Joe Rodon should leave Tottenham Hotspur for Everton

In our view, if Joe Rodon has the chance to leave Tottenham Hotspur for Everton in the summer transfer window, then he should take it.

There is no point in the defender wasting his time on the bench at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, especially as Wales will play at the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar.

The 24-year-old needs to play regularly in the coming months if he is to be in top form for Wales in Qatar.

The £11 million 2020 signing (The Guardian) made three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham this past season.

During the 2020-21 season, the 24-year-old Wales international made eight starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham.
