Norwich City face Newcastle United on Tuesday night in the Championship and HITC pundits give their predictions on the likely outcome.

Dan Coombs

Norwich City 3-2 Newcastle United

Norwich suffered heartbreak against Newcastle earlier in the season and took a while to recover. They are back in form and will have a point to prove. Newcastle have real quality and are top of the league for a reason but Norwich have the bit between their teeth right now and are on the verge of the play-off places.

The Canaries have picked up more points than any other Championship team in 2017 and hosted their very own Goal of the Season competition in Saturday’s 5-1 battering of Forest. Newcastle may be the league leaders but Norwich’s creativity could catch them cold at Carrow Road.

Norwich City 2-1 Newcastle United

Norwich have had an unusual season. After a bright start they tailed away, only to have a resurgence in recent weeks which leaves them well-placed for a play-off push. The Canaries have won 4 and drawn 1 of their last 5 games. They’re facing a tough challenge against Newcastle, but if Alex Neil’s men hit the levels they did against Forest, they can beat the league leaders.

Norwich City 2-1 Newcastle United

Home advantage could be enough to see Norwich sneak a shock victory against the current league leaders. Newcastle are not the all-conquering force they were tipped to be in this division and the Canaries are eyeing a return to the top six.

Che Thomas

Norwich City 2-2 Newcastle United

A really intriguing game – could it replicate the drama of the reverse fixture? Norwich are back in form and smashed Forest at the weekend. Newcastle – the best away team in the league – are a different matter and I see this being an entertaining score draw.

Norwich are scoring for fun at home and could end Tuesday night inside the play-offs if results fall in their favour. That is the incentive for Alex Neil’s men, who despite Newcastle’s impressive away form, could throw a spanner in the way of the Magpies’ title hopes.
