Paul Rudd joins fans to watch Wrexham seal promotion

Friends actor Paul Rudd was at the Racecourse Ground on Saturday to be part of the Wrexham party. Before the game kicked-off, the Marvel cast member was spotted drinking beer and singing songs at The Turf pub across the road from the stadium.

Several photos of Rudd joining in with the locals went viral on social media. The 54-year-old seemed in great spirits and appeared more than happy to stop and take photos with fans.

“Loving the pictures of Paul Rudd having a pint with the Wrexham fans,” wrote one person. “Just because you are a so-called superstar, it doesn’t make you too good to share the craic with the ‘little people’. Many could learn from this.”

Rudd was stood next to Ryan and Rob throughout the tens game. At full time there was an outpouring of emotion from the two co-owners, which Rudd managed to capture on camera.

Rudd filmed the pair in the immediate aftermath the 3-1 win as Reynolds bent over with his hands on his head. The Deadpool star shared Paul’s footage on Twitter admitting he almost blacked out at that moment.

“Rob and I kinda blacked out during this moment, but somehow we’ll never forget it,” Reynolds wrote on Twitter, sharing the video taken by Rudd.

McElhenney added: “You can see something leave both of our bodies at the same time. And then we’re filled back up with an indescribable amount of joy and gratitude.”

Speaking after the match, Reynolds told BT Sport: “I am not sure I can process what happened tonight. I am still a little speechless.

“[People ask] ‘Why Wrexham?’. This is why Wrexham. This happening, right now, is why. Boreham Wood showed up today. They are an incredible team. They have one of the best defences in the entire league.

On Sunday Ryan tweeted: ‘Everything I own smells like champagne, beer and grass. I’m still somewhere between giggling and sobbing. This town and this sport is one of the most romantic things on earth. Thank you, @Wrexham_AFC’
