Paddy Pimblett shares prediction for McGregor vs. Holloway
Paddy Pimblett has weighed in on how he thinks the upcoming fight between Conor McGregor and Max Holloway will play out.
McGregor makes his return to action against Max Holloway on 11 July, headlining UFC 329.
‘The Notorious’ hasn’t fought since breaking his leg in 2021 against Dustin Poirier and has since changed up his training to reduce the risk of another major injury.
The long layoff has left McGregor as an underdog heading into this comeback fight, a rare position for the former two-weight world champion.

Paddy Pimblett backs Conor McGregor to beat Max Holloway at UFC 329
In the past, McGregor’s headliners have often lacked star power elsewhere on the card, but that’s not the case this time. The event is packed, and Pimblett features in the co-main event against Benoit Saint-Denis in what should be an entertaining lightweight clash.
This card has a bit more depth. And while many people are backing Holloway to get it done over the former double champion, ‘The Baddy’ isn’t one of them. Instead, he feels McGregor can shock fans with a knockout win.
“Personally I think because it’s at welterweight, I can see Conor knocking him out,” Pimblett told UFC on TNT Sports.
“Everyone’s counting Conor out and thinks that Max is gonna win it. If it goes to the later rounds, yeah, Max definitely will probably start piecing him up on the feet because he’s got that cardio and the volume.
“But the fact that it’s at welterweight I think favours Conor because Charles (Oliveira) made Max look small at lightweight so imagine how big Conor’s gonna look compared to him at welterweight,” he continued.
Pimblett said: “And as you just mentioned there – Kamaru Usman – he (Chimaev) missed weight by eight pounds for that and it wasn’t even close.”
