Conor McGregor has re-negotiated his UFC contract ahead of his highly anticipated return.

The biggest name in MMA will make his comeback during International Fight Week 2026, headlining the event at UFC 329.

It’s a rematch 13 years in the making, with McGregor set to face Max Holloway in a welterweight clash at T-Mobile Arena. Their first fight took place at featherweight, where the Irishman came out on top.

The new deal between Paramount+ and the UFC doesn’t include pay-per-view, so new terms had to be agreed upon for McGregor’s comeback.

Conor McGregor says new UFC contract still falls short of his value

The UFC’s recent $7 billion deal with Paramount marked the end of the pay-per-view era, changing how fighters like Conor McGregor earn their money.

McGregor had always benefited from PPV events, pocketing a significant cut thanks to his ability to draw massive audiences. With the new system in place, he considered his old contract void and pushed for new terms under the updated broadcast setup.

The changes slowed down his return, but he eventually came to terms on a fresh contract with the UFC. Even so, McGregor believes the promotion still isn’t paying him what he’s truly worth, despite being content with where they landed financially.

Speaking about his new contract on The Ariel Helwani Show, McGregor said: “I am happy to an extent,” he said. “There’s a lot more there. I hope (my future) is with the UFC. I hope I get honoured even more. I’m gonna prove even more so what I am about.”

Asked about how talks went between himself and promotion president Dana White and co-owner Hunter Campbell, ‘Mystic Mac’ said: “It wasn’t that difficult. We met in the middle,” said McGregor.

“We got a good juicy one. Was it what my worth is? Probably not. Was it what they wanted to offer? Definitely not! We met in the middle.”

McGregor’s next fight will be one of the two remaining on his current deal, as there was no extension added during negotiations.
