Conor McGregor’s recent UFC 329 remark
Conor McGregor has made a bold statement that could come back to bite him at UFC 329.
The former two-division champion is set to return to the Octagon during International Fight Week after five years out of action.
He’ll headline the July 11 card in Las Vegas, taking on Max Holloway in a rematch more than a decade in the making.
McGregor came out on top when they first met, and he doesn’t seem to think much has changed ahead of their next meeting.

Conor McGregor says he expects the same Max Holloway at UFC 329
McGregor beat Holloway by unanimous decision in Boston back in 2013, early in both of their careers. Since then, each has enjoyed significant success, including featherweight title runs, with ‘Blessed’ often mentioned among the division’s all-time greats.
While McGregor has spent recent years out of action, Holloway has remained active and notable. He picked up the BMF title in 2024 and owns wins over names like Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier.
Still, ‘The Notorious’ recently suggested that Holloway hasn’t changed much since their original meeting more than a decade ago.
“He is confident,” McGregor said during a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show. “Look, Max is alright. Max is good. Max is my son. I son’d Max when we fought those years ago, and I’m gonna do so again.”
“I don’t think so,” he continued when Helwani suggested Holloway has improved a lot in 13 years. “I don’t see much. I don’t see much difference, no. Same reactions, same movements.”
“Listen, Max got better after he fought me. He added more moves to his game. But even still, there’s only one. I’m not gonna say I don’t rate him; I don’t rate any of them.”
