Ian Wright says Hugo Lloris has proven in the past that he has a mistake in him ‘from nowhere’, as he showcased during Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-0 defeat to Arsenal in the North London derby on Sunday.
Start brightly. Be aggressive. Get the basics right. And don’t make any errors.
That would have been the clear message to both the Tottenham and Arsenal players before they battled it out in the Premier League today.

You would think, the most experienced player on the pitch in 37-year-old Lloris would get that message the most, but it was his error that led to Arsenal’s opener.
It was a tame cross/shot from across the box by Bukayo Saka, it should have been an easy grab from the Frenchman, or even parry it away from you and away from danger.
Instead, it ended up going behind the recently-retired French international and Wright wasn’t surprised because he has been it all before from the player, as he told Premier League Productions (15/01/23 at 5:25 pm).
“He has got that in him,” said Wright. “He does that from out of nowhere – that helps you when they do that and start that nervy. I think he has to volley it (Nketiah’s shot and Lloris’s point-blank save early on in the game).
“But that was a signal. That was a signal of what Arsenal were going to do.”

LLORIS’ TIME IS UP
It’s been spoken about before that Lloris’ future at Spurs is in doubt, with less than 18 months left on his current contract.
Whether the £100k-a-week player (Spotrac) stays on board this summer or not, one thing is for sure, a new number one is needed.
That’s four errors he has made this season that have led to goals. He might have seen outstanding for France at the 2022 World Cup, but he is now well past it and needs to be replaced.
