Chelsea are becoming a real problem in the Premier League transfer market.
The Blues under Todd Boehly’s ownership have become the kings of the hijack in recent months, and they’re proving to be a thorn in the side of almost every Premier League team looking to make new signings.
They snatched Joao Felix from under Manchester United’s noses, they pinched Andrey Santos from Newcastle’s grasp, and, most notably, they gazumped Arsenal for Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Chelsea are on an absolute tear at the moment, and, unfortunately, Tottenham Hotspur could be the next team to suffer from their wrath.
Indeed, the Blues are apparently now targeting Pedro Porro as their top right-back option, and, as you may have guessed, Tottenham also view the Spaniard in the same way.

If Spurs want to go and get Porro, they’re going to have to go head-to-head with Chelsea, and as many of their rivals can attest to, that usually doesn’t end well these days.
The sticking point of this deal is that Tottenham do not want to pay the player’s €45m release clause, but, as we’ve seen from Boehly and Chelsea in recent months, money is no object at Stamford Bridge, and if they want the player, they will fork out for him.
It’s frustrating because it has been reported by The Mirror that Porro has agreed to join Tottenham, but if Chelsea do come in for him and meet his release clause, he may well end up at Stamford Bridge.
Ironically, there are so many parallels to the Mudryk deal here in that Porro is clearly clamouring for a move to north London, but with Chelesea circling, a move to the west may now be more likely.
It looks like everyone is going to be a victim of Chelsea’s bullish spending at some point, and sadly, it looks like it may be Spurs’ turn.
