According to AS, Tottenham Hotspur have made an approach to Massimiliano Allegri.
However, according to the report, Allegri has turned down Tottenham, as the Italian manager wants to wait and see what happens at Real Madrid.
There are suggestions that Zinedine Zidane could leave Madrid at the end of the season, and former AC Milan and Juventus head coach Allegri reportedly wants the job at the Spanish club.
Madrid are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and between Los Blancos and Spurs, the choice is clear – not just for Allegri, but for any manager.
However, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy reportedly approaching Allegri shows his ambition.
And he must be praised for it.
True, there are a lot of things that Tottenham have done wrong in recent times, but you cannot blame Levy for showing ambition when he got in Jose Mourinho (although you could argue whether Mauricio Pochettino should have been sacked in the first place)
And now Spurs are showing ambition again by going after Allegri.
Allegri is one of the best managers in the world and is without a managerial job at the moment.

The 53-year-old won the Serie A title once with Milan and five times with Juventus. The Italian tactician also led the Bianconeri to the final of the Champions League twice.
Tottenham will know the kind of players Allegri has worked with in the past. Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are just two of the biggest names the Italian has managed.
It is unlikely that Tottenham chairman Levy approached Allegri without some kind of assurance about giving him a big budget.
Harry Kane may not be at Spurs next season, and there are doubts over the future of other players including Tanguy Ndombele.
It is hard to see Tottenham making a pitch to Allegri in which they would have said that he would have to work without some key current players, without assuring him that they will be replaced by potentially better players.
Allegri may not eventually come to Spurs, but fans should be pleased that Levy is at least trying to bring in a top-quality manager.
