
The door may have just opened for Liverpool to sign Kylian Mbappe, thanks to Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane.
Mbappe has long been linked with Liverpool.
Well-known journalist Duncan Castles has said on the Transfer Window Podcast that Mbappe’s first-choice club, if he leaves Paris Saint-Germain, would be Liverpool, as covered by HITC Sport.
Journalist Ian McGarry has previously said on the Transfer Window Podcast that Liverpool are looking into the possibility of signing Mbappe from PSG in the summer of 2021, as covered by HITC Sport.
Back in September, L’Equipe reported that that Liverpool are planning to make a move for the striker – described by Manchester United and France international midfielder Paul Pogba as “incredible” on Canal Plus, as transcribed by Get French Football News, earlier this month – in the summer of 2021.
Now, PSG are a wealthy club and they are not going to sell Mbappe on the cheap, especially as they paid £166 million for him.
However, according to Eurosport, the 22-year-old has not signed a new contract at PSG and is open to leaving the French club.

The report has claimed interest from Madrid in the youngster, but it has added if head coach Zidane leaves at the end of the season, then the Spanish giants may not be able to convince the striker to make the switch.
French compatriot Zidane is reportedly a big reason why Mbappe is open to a move to Madrid, and there is a suggestion that he could leave.
This could open the door for Liverpool, especially as the striker is reported to like the Anfield club and manager Jurgen Klopp.
Now, of course, there is the small matter of Liverpool coughing up the cash that PSG would want for the striker…
