Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has praised Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold on BT Sport 1 (10:09pm, December 16, 2021) for his goal at Anfield.

Alexander-Arnold scored a brilliant goal in the 87th minute, as Liverpool won 3-1 against Newcastle at Anfield in the Premier League.

It was a brilliant strike from the 23-year-old England international right-back.

There was a suggestion that the referee could have impeded Martin Dúbravka’s line of sight.

However, Newcastle boss Howe does not appear to have any issues with Alexander-Arnold’s strike and has raved about him.

Eddie Howe on Trent Alexander-Arnold

Howe said on BT Sport 1 (10:09pm, December 16, 2021) for his goal at Anfield: “There’s not a lot you can do about that.

“Liverpool were going to have potential for long shots, you have got one of the best strikers of the ball in world football, and he set it brilliantly. There’s nothing we could do at that moment.”

World-class

In our view, Alexander-Arnold’s strike was world class.

It was one of the best goals in the Premier League.

There’s no doubt about that.

In our opinion, Alexander-Arnold is a world-class right-back who is only going to get better in the coming years.

We know that the England international is a brilliant passer of the ball who has often been touted to play in midfield.

And we saw on Thursday that Alexander-Arnold is a brilliant striker of the ball.

Is there anything the 23-year-old cannot do?

Liverpool have a real gem on their hands on Alexander-Arnold, and the Anfield faithful must be delighted and proud.
