Gary Lineker has raved about Liverpool and England international right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold on Twitter.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and England international striker has said that Alexander-Arnold is such a good player that the 22-year-old can play anywhere on the pitch.
The Liverpool youngster is a right-back by trade, but he started in midfield for England against Andorra in the 2022 World Cup qualifier at Wembley Stadium in London yesterday.
Lineker has long said that Alexander-Arnold is good enough to play in midfield due to his passing ability, and now he has claimed that the 22-year-old could play anywhere.
Alexander-Arnold did not have the best of times in midfield yesterday, and there was no surprise that the defender went back to being a right-back in the second half against Andorra.
The Liverpool defender does indeed have a great passing range, but it takes more than that to play in midfield.
If Alexander-Arnold is make the transition to midfield, then he will have to work on it daily in training and has to be played in that position in competitive games.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to encourage that at the club.
After all, Alexander-Arnold is the best right-back at Liverpool and one of the best in his position in the world.
