Reported Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal target Denzel Dumfries has told The Athletic that it is a compliment that Chelsea are interested in signing him.

Dumfries, who has been linked with Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham, has made it clear that he is happy at Inter Milan for the time being.

The wing-back has added that he is focused on doing well for the Netherlands at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

The Netherlands have progressed to the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

The Dutch beat the USA 3-1 in the Round of 16 on Saturday.

Inter star Dumfries give two assists and scored a goal and was arguably the best player on the pitch.

CMW reported last month that Arsenal are interested in signing Dumfries from Inter Milan in the January transfer window and are willing to pay £31 million for the 26-year-old, as we covered here on HITC Sport.

Earlier this week, 90min claimed that Tottenham are keen on Dumfries as well and have already made contact in regard to a move for him in 2023.

Another CMW report claimed that Chelsea could sign the full-back in a swap deal for Mateo Kovacic.

Dumfries said: “Of course it’s a compliment. But when you put the Nerazzurri shirt on that is also a big compliment.

“I’m focused on the national team and I play for a very, very beautiful club in Italy. I’m very proud that I can play for Inter so I am focused on nothing else but the national team and Inter.”
