Italian outlet CMW claim that Arsenal are willing to pay £31million to sign Inter Milan flyer Denzel Dumfries, £4million short of Inter’s asking price – amid reports that Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested.
Dumfries, 26, joined an Inter Milan side that had just won the Scudetto under Antonio Conte. But since then, it has been a struggle for Inter under Simone Inzaghi. Finishing second last term, Inter are as low as fifth this time around.
While it has been testing times for Inter – who have qualified for the Champions League knockout rounds – Dumfries has been a shining light. Playing 65 times since his move from PSV in 2021, he has clocked up 17 goal involvements.
Compare that to Emerson Royal. Joining Spurs in 2021, a couple of weeks after Dumfries joined Inter, he has just three goals and assists in 59 outings. It is clear to see why CMW claim that Spurs want Dumfries – and could include Royal.
A player that was jeered off the pitch on Saturday. Rudy Galetti says Manchester United have asked for information regarding the Netherlands star. Another CMW report claims that Chelsea could sign him, in a swap for Mateo Kovacic.

Arsenal willing to pay £31million to sign Inter flyer Dumfries
Now, Arsenal are said to be interested. Mikel Arteta has identified two transfers he wants in January. He is keen on bringing Adrien Rabiot to the club, as well as Dumfried. A combined figure in the region of £40million.
Of that fee, £31million is to go to Inter for Dumfries. However, Inter want slightly more, around £35million. Given there is little to compromise, you would expect Arsenal to meet the requirements. But do Arsenal really need a right-back?
Ben White’s form in that position has seen him win a place in the England squad. Manchester United have Diego Dalot in good form, while Chelsea have Reece James – although injured. Tottenham need to replace Emerson Royal.
