Arsenal fans are probably glad that club football is now going to return after two international tournaments this summer.
For over a month, Euro 2024 and Copa America have taken centre stage, with Spain and Argentina proving to be victorious in those respective competitions.
No Arsenal players featured in the South American showdown between Argentina and Colombia, but there were several names in the other final.
England were beaten by Spain in the final of Euro 2024, with David Raya an unused substitute for his country as they went on to secure a historic victory in Berlin.
Arsenal’s number two Aaron Ramsdale was in the same boat, but they both knew this before a ball was kicked in Germany.
The two who did play and start every game for their nation were Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka.
At club level, nobody is going to dispute what they bring to the table because they were outstanding last season even if Arsenal missed out on the Premier League title to Manchester City on the last day.
But what they are delivering on the international stage isn’t exactly sitting well with some.
Richard Keys wasn’t too impressed with Saka or Rice because he thinks they did ‘nothing’ at Euro 2024, as he wrote in his personal blog.
The former Sky Sports presenter has already called out the ‘nonsense’ surrounding Saka at the start of Euro 2024, and he still isn’t impressed.

“Foden did nothing,” said Keys. “Saka got to the byline once (v Serbia) – before delivering a deflected cross that Bellingham hurled himself at to score. Rice? No. Nothing.”

Arsenal fans and Arteta will now be hoping two of their key players get some well-earned rest now because they are going to be crucial in the title race.
As mentioned above, the Gunners came very close last term and they need Saka and Rice back to their best if they want to get over that line.

Many England players, including the Premier League’s Player of the Season, Phil Foden, got stick for their performances at Euro 2024.
In most cases for these guys, they have a manager in Gareth Southgate who just can’t get the best out of their attacking talent and normal service will resume on the Premier League stage because they are working under far better coaches.
