Ally McCoist has claimed there is ‘no chance’ he would swap Celtic’s season for Rangers after their Europa League final loss.
The former Gers striker was arguing with Celtic-mad, Alan Brazil, about who has had the better season and whether he would swap one for the other.
Talking simple facts, Celtic have the Scottish Premiership title to their name, added with the Scottish League Cup.
And, as things stand, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who replaced Steven Gerrard in the Ibrox dugout this season, will be hoping to add a first trophy to his side’s name in the Scottish Cup final against Hearts at the weekend.
Rangers had the chance to win the big one on Wednesday night, but they suffered a Europa League final penalty shootout defeat to German side Frankfurt in Seville.
Hours after that loss, both Brazil and McCoist argued about Celtic and Rangers’ season on talkSPORT on Thursday morning.
“Yes, because we are the champions,” said Brazil.
Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor then responded: “Look how far they have got in the Europa League.”
To which Brazil added, “We are the champions. And don’t forget Gabby, we have won the big one (referencing the European Cup win). The big one!”
McCoist then had his say: “Aye, when everybody was winning it?! You beat five teams? How many teams did you beat to win that? Was it five?
“It’s impossible for teams like Rangers and Celtic to reach a Euro final in the current climate.
On if McCoist would swap Celtic’s season for Rangers: “Right now?! No! absolutely no chance. Honest to God. No chance! If you asked me last year, because last year was the big one, when they thought they were going for ten.”

RANGERS COULD FINISH THE SEASON EMPTY-HANDED
The fact of the matter is that winning the title is the bread and butter, especially given that Celtic reclaimed their crown under Ange Postecoglou.
Celtic have that in the bag, added with their League Cup, whilst their Old Firm rivals may well end the season empty-handed.
At the end of the day, given the manner of defeat in the Europa League final, and the quick turnaround, these Rangers players will be on the floor, both mentally and physically.
So, if they can’t pick themselves up quick enough, then Hearts will be sure to pounce on that at Hampden.
