Alan Brazil has questioned why Aaron Ramsey wasn’t brought on earlier during Rangers’ penalty shootout heartache to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final in Seville.
It was Ramsey’s penalty that was saved during the shootout, as Rangers lost 5-4 on penalties to the German side – Chris Sutton had his say on that defeat.
But, Ramsey only came onto the pitch late on in extra-time to take a penalty, with Giovanni van Bronckhorst subbing him on for a sub in Fashion Sakala.
Whilst that call, easy to say now, has proven to be very costly because Ramsey was the only player, from both sides, to have his penalty saved.
Celtic-mad and talkSPORT presenter, Brazil, was baffled by the Juventus loanee not coming on earlier, as he told the Breakfast Show on Thursday morning.
“Aaron Ramsey, I couldn’t understand why he wasn’t brought on (earlier),” said Brazil. “I couldn’t understand that me.
“It was the 117th minute. It’s difficult to come off the bench and take an important penalty like that.”

RAMSEY’S LOAN TO RANGERS TAKES A TURN FOR THE WORST
There was a lot of hype and expectation when Ramsey first arrived at Ibrox, but it’s probably not going the way fans would have liked.
There is even talk that the Gers won’t sign the Juventus midfielder on a permanent basis when his loan deal expires – and in truth, yesterday’s drama wouldn’t have helped.
Either way, Rangers can’t feel too sorry for themselves because they have the Scottish Cup final to deal with at the weekend.
Whilst the fans’ hearts were shattered in Seville, they have to quickly pick themselves up for their showdown against Hearts at Hampden.
