Newcastle now want to bring Tottenham target Samuel Iling-Junior back to the Premier League, following his rise to stardom after departing Chelsea.

What’s the story?

Well – according to 90min – Eddie Howe is keen to sign the Juventus No.43 this summer.

It comes after Tuttosport in Italy claimed that Tottenham are also interested in signing Iling-Junior.

The England Under-20 international was sold to Juventus by Chelsea in 2020, and his career has truly taken off in Turin.

Iling-Junior has made seven appearances in Serie A for Juventus so far this season, while he also made his Champions League debut against Benfica back in October.

90min believe the financial issues Juventus are currently experiencing could play a factor in the 19-year-old leaving the Allianz Stadium, as Newcastle express an interest.

It is also said that Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are keen to sign the teenage sensation.

Samuel Iling-Junior is exactly what Newcastle need

In our view, Iling-Junior and others of a similar profile are exactly what Newcastle should be spending their millions on.

The Islington-born wonderkid looks set to be worth a fortune if he continues on his current trajectory, and would represent a wise investment from the Magpies given the fact he would make an impact now and also throughout the future.

Additionally, Iling-Junior can play at left-back, one area which many Newcastle fans believe there is vast room for improvement as Dan Burn lacks attacking prowess on the overlap.

While it is tempting for Newcastle to focus on signing bonafide superstars such as Harry Kane with their newfound riches – for example – gems like the Juventus No.43 would help the Magpies out in the long-term in regards to financial fair play.

Iling-Junior has time on his side, and carries strong resale value if Newcastle ever found themselves needing to balance the books, whereas someone like Kane – nearing his thirties – would not.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Newcastle attempt to fend off some of Europe’s elite to sign Iling-Junior.
