Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United have been linked with Kim Min-jae, and it seems that Napoli are prepared to sell the central defender in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool and Manchester United linked with Kim Min-jae

In March 2023, Italian journalist Ciro Venerato said, as quoted in Calcio Napoli 24, that Liverpool are interested in signing Kim from Napoli in the summer of 2023.

Venerato added that Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also ready to go big for the defender, described as “sensational” on BBC Sport in November 2022 by former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy.

Earlier this month, Corriere dello Sport reported that the Red Devils are determined to sign the 26-year-old in the summer transfer window and are preparing an offer of €60 million (£52.22 million).

Then in midweek, 90Min claimed that Liverpool scouted Kim in action for Napoli against Fiorentina in Serie A last weekend.

Napoli preparing for possible exit

And now, TuttoNapoli have reported that Napoli are preparing for a possible exit of Kim to Manchester United.

The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that United have been scouting the defender, who helped Napoli win Serie A this season, for a few months now and could make a move for him.

So, Napoli are preparing for a possible departure of the defender to United and have identified three possible replacements for him.

Danilho Doekhi of Union Berlin, RC Lens’s Kevin Danso and Atalanta’s Giorgio Scalvini are the three defenders Napoli are looking at, according to the report.

So, it seems that Napoli are resigned to losing Kim in the summer of 2023.

The big question is whether Liverpool will be able to beat United to the signing of the defender.
