It has been less than a week since Mitchell Robinson landed in Boston but that did not stop him from clapping back at a Celtics fan on Instagram.
The veteran center fired back after a fan mocked his free throw shooting, trying to demean him. Robinson, however, was not in a mood to let it slide.
He was quick to remind the fan how the team’s 2025 playoff series against the New York Knicks ended.

Mitchell Robinson takes the Celtics fan on a jog down memory lane
The Celtics fan started it all after he commented on one of Robinson’s Instagram posts and wrote, “He better be great otherwise he’ll be remembered for missing 2 free throws against us.”
Robinson quickly replied, “That’s cool, still sent that a__ home, remember that.”
The exchange was later shared by social media outlets and quickly caught the attention of NBA fans on social media.
Robinson has not forgotten the Knicks-Celtics rivalry
The fan was pointing out Robinson’s free throw struggles during the Knicks’ 2025 Eastern Conference semifinal series against Boston. The Celtics repeatedly used the “Hack-a-Mitch” strategy to send Robinson to the free throw line.
Despite Robinson’s struggles, the Knicks won the series in six games to eliminate the defending NBA champions.
Even though Robinson is now a member of the Celtics after signing a three-year, $47.4 million contract, he did not shy away from taking one last playful shot at the fan, who will now be his home fan base!
