Mike Macdonald has revealed that two NFL legends reached out to him recently, including Tom Brady.

The Seattle Seahawks head coach admitted he received messages from both Brady and Peyton Manning following a major offseason shake-up.

And while Macdonald clearly appreciated the gestures, he could not resist aiming a playful jab at the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

Speaking about the support he has received, Macdonald said, “Tom Brady texted me, that was cool. Peyton Manning.”

It is not every day that a head coach casually mentions hearing from two of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.

But Macdonald’s relationship with Brady came with an added twist. “I did tell him, I was like, ‘Hey, thanks for stealing our OC.’”

The comment referred to the Las Vegas Raiders hiring Klint Kubiak away from Seattle to become their next head coach.

Brady, now a minority owner in Las Vegas, reportedly had a hand in the appointment.

Macdonald’s remark was light-hearted, but it underlined the reality that Seattle have lost a key member of their staff.

Coordinator movement is part of the NFL cycle, yet it still stings when a division rival benefits.

While discussing the changes around the league, Macdonald also took time to reflect on what his team achieved.

“I take a lot of pride in delivering that to our fans and to the 12s,” he shared. “Take the coaches and me out of it, but what our players did, this team…

“The 2025-26 Seattle Seahawks, I think, deserve to be recognized as one of the all-time great teams, great performances.

“I mean, find me a stat and compare it to everybody else. But that’s important in the history books, and our guys deserve that recognition, I think.”

It was a strong statement from the Seahawks head coach, one that shows the belief inside the building.

Despite losing key staff, Macdonald clearly feels his squad has already etched their name into franchise history.
