Michael Owen has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the controversial decisions in the Premier League game between Chelsea and Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge in London on Sunday.

Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea got the better of Eddie Howe’s Newcastle 1-0 at home in the Premier League today.

Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the match in the 89th minute.

It was a brilliant goal as well.

However, many Newcastle fans will question whether Havertz should have stayed on the pitch for that long in the first place.

In the first half, the Chelsea star caught Dan Burn in the face while jumping, but he was not sent off.

Former Newcastle striker Owen believes that the referee was right not to send off Havertz.

The Magpies also had a strong appeal for a penalty turned down in the second half.

Newcastle fans were also disappointed and frustrated that Trevoh Chalobah was not penalised for a foul on Jacob Murphy.

Owen believes that it was a penalty.

Here is former Liverpool and Manchester United striker’s verdict on Twitter.
