Atletico Madrid are now turning their attention to reported Leeds United target Matheus Cunha, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
What’s the story?
SkySport journalist Di Marzio has reported on his website that La Liga champions Atletico are now looking at Hertha Berlin attacker Cunha.
The Spanish club actually want to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina, but they are unable to reach an agreement with the Italian outfit over a transfer fee.
So, Atletico have decided to turn their attention to 22-year-old Cunha, who won the Tokyo Olympics with Brazil this summer and can play as a striker, attacking midfielder or winger.
Blow for Leeds United
This latest development regarding Cunha will come as a blow for Leeds, who have been strongly linked with the 22-year-old.
Sky Germany and Calciomercato reported in May interest from the Premier League club in the Hertha star
Then UOL in Brazil claimed in June that Leeds had stepped up talks to sign Cunha.

We covered the reports here on HITC Sport.
Now, of course, Leeds are a massive club and can offer Cunha Premier League football, but Atletico won La Liga last season and regularly play in the Champions League.
The Spanish club are likely to be a more attractive proposition for Cunha, who scored seven goals and gave four assists in 25 Bundesliga starts last season.
