Arsenal and Newcastle are interested in signing Gustav Isaksen from FC Midtjylland, with West Ham also keen on the 21-year-old.

That was according to Calciomercato in Italy, and Claus Steinlein – CEO of the Danish outfit – has now shared some very intriguing comments on the situation.

Arsenal, Newcastle & West Ham given boost

Well, Steinlein has actually admitted that he has “made an agreement” with Isaksen in regards to a sale in 2023.

The FC Midtjylland CEO told Tipsbladet: “We have made an agreement with Gustav, his family and agent that he will stay until the summer, and then we will sell. I was made aware a week ago that the biggest sale in the history of the Superliga is €20m (£17m), and if he has to leave, we have to beat it.”

Steinlein could not have made things more simple.

Arsenal, Newcastle and West Ham must offer more than £17m if they want to sign Isaksen, or else they should forgot about a deal materialising.

The Denmark Under-21 international has burst onto the scene at FC Midtjylland, not only making waves at domestic level, but also on the European scene in the Europa League.

Isaksen has scored three goals and provided two assists in six Europa League outings so far this season, including strikes home and away against Lazio.

Arsenal, Newcastle & West Ham set for bidding war

Given the riches possessed by Premier League clubs nowadays, £17m is easily affordable for the Gunners, Magpies and the Hammers.

Therefore, Steinlein could receive far more than he expects to.

Should Arsenal make the first offer, Newcastle could easily afford to submit a £20m bid with their Saudi Arabian wealth, and West Ham find themselves in a position to exceed that, having spent £51m on Lucas Paqueta and £35.5m on Gianluca Scamacca.

Three wealthy Premier League sides are set to fight it out for Isaksen, and Steinlein must be rubbing his hands as a potential record Superliga sale looms in 2023.
