West Ham United fans are hoping for some big changes next season after the departure of David Moyes.

Not only were supporters unhappy with the club’s results, but a lot was also made of the team’s style of play under the Europa Conference League-winning manager and how it was uninspiring.

Julen Lopetegui is now tasked with trying to help turn all of that around at West Ham United and he is starting to make his mark already.

When the Spaniard was at Wolves, one of the reasons for his departure days before the 2023/24 Premier League campaign was because of transfers and disagreements.

And you feel West Ham have to back him here, get the required players on board and start the club’s new chapter on the right note.

No Upcoming Fixtures

Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme has joined to add some much-needed depth and long-term excitement to the club’s backline.

But one of West Ham’s biggest issues last season was their defence, this is despite having a defensive-minded coach in the dugout.

The Hammers conceded 74 goals, and only the relegated sides conceded more, which just proved the problems they suffered.

But now they are going to try and combat that with the signing of Max Kilman from Wolves.

The 27-year-old expressed his delight in making the switch to the London Stadium on Instagram and he was congratulated in the comments section, including by Guilherme, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Dan Bentley.

West Ham United sign Max Kilman

‘Let’s go bro’, wrote Guilherme, whilst Arsenal’s Zinchenko added: ‘All the best, brother’ and Dan Bentley added: ‘what a guy’.

Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma to leave?

There could be wholesale changes at the back for West Ham this summer, with more new faces expected, but also key departures.

Long-term servant Angelo Ogbonna has left after his contract expired, whilst sources have told HITC that West Ham are happy to move on from Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma.

Lopetegui’s first home game of the season will be against a familiar face and his old friend Aston Villa boss Unai Emery.

He guided the team to the Champions League last term and they scored five goals against the London club picking up four points, with star striker Ollie Watkins netting 19.
