Reported Tottenham Hotspur target and Barcelona forward Memphis Depay was in action for the Netherlands on Friday, and his performance in the second half against Belgium has been rated as “excellent” by Football-Oranje.

Football-Oranje have praised Depay, linked with a move to Antonio Conte’s Tottenham from Barcelona in the summer transfer window, for his goals and “lovely runs” against Belgium and have rated his display as 8/10.

The Netherlands got the better of Belgium 4-1 in the UEFA Nations League on Friday evening.

The 28-year-old former Manchester United forward started alongside Tottenham’s Steven Bergwijn upfront and scored two goals, both in the second half.

Spanish journalist Gerard Romero claimed on Twitch in March that Tottenham have made an offer for Depay.

Sport reported last month that Depay is open to leaving Barcelona in the summer transfer window, and that the La Liga giants themselves are willing to listen to offers for the 28-year-old.

Praised for Tottenham Hotspur target Memphis Depay

Football-Oranje wrote about £82,000-a-week (Goal) forward: “A frustrating first half was followed up by an excellent second.

“Got two goals and had some lovely runs after the break. Now only 10 goals away from being Netherlands record goalscorer.”

Depay made 20 starts and eight substitute appearances in La Liga for Barcelona this past season.

The Dutchman scored 12 goals and gave two assists in those games

The Barcelona no. 9 also made six appearances in the Champions League and three in the Europa League for Barcelona this past campaign.
