Liverpool could well take advantage of a European clubs financial situation to sign an exciting 17-year-old prospect on a free transfer.
Arne Slot’s Liverpool have been one of the more quieter sides in the summer transfer window with the Reds yet to make a first team signing under the Dutchman.
HITC have reported that Liverpool are prioritising contract renewals this summer with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk the clubs current targets for new deals.
News of signings has certainly been quiet but HITC have reported Liverpool have been in talks with the agents of Crysencio Summerville and Lutsharel Geertruida.
According to reports from France, however, the Reds could take advantage of Bordeaux’s situation.

Liverpool to take advantage of Bordeaux’s situation to sign Mathys Angely
A report from French outlet Foot Mercato claims that Liverpool are prepared to take advantage of Bordeaux’s liquidation to sign teenage defender Mathys Angely.
Bordeaux announced yesterday that the club are ceasing to be a professional sports team and have begun the process of filing for bankruptcy.
The French side’s situation isn’t the first of it’s kind and it certainly won’t be the last with financial mismanagement rife across English and European football.
Liverpool could well be about to take advantage of that situation to sign Angely on a free.
A new defender looks to be high on Liverpool’s transfer wishlist as the Reds were working hard to sign Leny Yoro from Lille before the teenager opted for a move to Manchester United.
Liverpool want promising defender but age is a concern
Slot’s side are said to have followed Angely with the central defender making quite the impact in Ligue 2 for Bordeaux.
The central defender is not only attracting interest from Liverpool, with French clubs also reportedly thought to be keen on him.
However, Liverpool would prevented from signing Angely until he turned 18 due to the Brexit ruling which does not allow English clubs to sign players from the European Union until their 18th birthday.
Frenchman Angely had been described as magnificent by France under 17 manager Erwan Lannuzel following an appearance for the national team at youth level.
“He has a magnificent foot and an incredible understanding of the game for his age,” Lannuzel said.
