Brighton & Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo has impressed Liverpool scouts. The Reds are also confident that the Seagulls will allow a transfer for the Ecuador midfielder come 2023.

That is according to Goal, which reports the Anfield natives will now go all-out to improve Jurgen Klopp’s midfield next year. The Merseysiders are well-stocked for defenders and in attack following Cody Gakpo’s move. He will join Liverpool from PSV Eindhoven in January.

Now, Klopp will strive to improve his engine room and Brighton star Caicedo is a name on Liverpool’s transfer shortlist. The 21-year-old has caught the eye with his performances at the Amex Stadium. He also displayed his global potential at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Liverpool are confident Brighton will grant Caicedo a transfer in 2023

Talent spotters now consider Caicedo to be one of the best up-and-coming Premier League players. His efforts have suitably impressed scouts working for Liverpool, as well. While the policy in place at Brighton to develop and sell star players gives the Reds confidence to bid.

But Caicedo’s rise on the south coast and in the Ecuador set-up has seen his market value increase, too. Brighton paid Independiente del Valle just £4.5m to sign the Santo Domingo native in February 2021. Now, though, Goal notes they value Caicedo at in excess of £50m.

Chelsea and Newcastle are also waiting in the wings to sign Caicedo

Brighton’s increased valuation of Caicedo could prove restrictive should Liverpool chase his transfer in 2023. While the Reds admire the 21-year-old, the fee in question will likely be a stumbling block. Even worse, the Daily Mail reports the midfielder may actually cost £60m.

Their higher price tag is unlikely to be an issue for Newcastle United, either. The Daily Mail adds that Brighton will not put the Toon off a move for Caicedo in 2023 by seeking a £60m transfer. Sky Sports has also credited Chelsea and Liverpool with an interest in his services.
