Liverpool-mad pundit Jose Enrique has stated on his Instagram story that Chelsea have signed a ‘world-class’ talent in Joao Felix, with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal missing out on securing the signature of the Atletico Madrid star.
After spending a record-breaking £250 million+ in the summer, Chelsea aren’t stopping there because they are paying £9 million for Felix’s loan deal until the end of the season and it seems as though Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal weren’t willing to push to such financial lengths to sign the versatile forward.
Yes, the Premier League table-toppers need a forward this month because of Gabriel Jesus’ injury, but they aren’t putting their foot down in that financial accelerator like Chelsea’s new owner, Todd Boehly.

When there was talk of Felix coming to the Premier League, former Liverpool left-back Enrique shared that he wanted the Portugal international to join Jurgen Klopp on Merseyside and he advised them to sign the former Benfica man.
Those at Anfield, instead, signed Cody Gakpo from PSV and now fans will be hoping that a much-needed midfielder is added.
Either way, following Felix’s move to Stamford Bridge, this is what Enrique posted on his IG story regarding that move.
“World-class talent,” said Enrique. “But it’s true that he could never prove himself in Simeone’s side because of the way Atletico Madrid plays.
“But I believe he can do really well at Chelsea. Atletico paid over 100m Euros for him a few years ago.
On if Felix can get back to his goalscoring best: “Of course, he can. The talent is there. But it’s true that he is coming to a very struggling side, so it’s always more difficult. But the qualities and talent is there.
On rating Felix signing out of 10: “It’s too early to say because the Premier League is a different level. But it’s true, in terms of talent, he is a 10.”

FELIX – THE EXPENSIVE RISK
The transfer market is already inflated, well, Chelsea have thrown so much money since Boehly’s takeover that even the market for lower league players is going to tip over.
There is no doubt that this is a very expensive risk for the tenth-placed Premier League side, mainly because of their struggles under Graham Potter after sacking Thomas Tuchel.
If he had joined Arsenal, then he would have walked into the best team in England right now and a dressing room that is buzzing, even Liverpool with their struggles would have been a better fit because at least their forwards are still cooking.
In West London, Felix will have to, not only prove his own worth, but also get off the mark straightaway because Chelsea need it, as well as help his morale-sapped teammates around him, so it’s a lot to ask for the player already.
