Liverpool could find their own Paul Pogba, N’Golo Kante or Kevin de Bruyne in Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni, after the Reds’ transfer target revealed their influence on his game.

Tchouameni is emerging as one of Europe’s hottest properties as he continues to grow in the Principality and for France. Real Madrid, Juventus and several English sides admire the 21-year-old, per Calciomercato, who quote Tchouameni reflecting on his inspirations.

Liverpool are one of the English sides exploring a transfer for Tchouameni, according to Tuttosport. As are Chelsea, with the Premier League rivals likely challengers in a €40m (£34m) race, also featuring Bayern Munich.

Tchouameni continually enhances his reputation at Monaco, after Ligue 1 named him their Young Player of the Year last season. Didier Deschamps also awarded the midfielder his France debut last month, and second start in Sunday’s UEFA Nations League final.

He does not consider himself to be the finished product after a stellar year so far, either. Instead, Tchouameni is working to improve, and says he takes inspiration from some of Liverpool’s biggest rivals’ players.

“I’m good at recovering balls, but the various technicians have trained me to improve playing more with the ball between my feet,” Tchouameni said. “I’m working on passing and watching the game.

“I like Pogba. I have always followed his career, from the very beginning. Now, I have the opportunity to play with him and Kante, two pillars [of the France team]. I am inspired by their great qualities. I also really like De Bruyne.”

Tchouameni, Liverpool’s De Bruyne and Kante in one transfer swoop?

Tchouameni could be Liverpool’s answer to De Bruyne and Kante in one transfer swoop if they agree terms with Monaco. The Frenchman is showing Kante’s influence on his game in the way he dictates the Monegasques’ engine room.

De Bruyne and Pogba’s forward influence is also showing through in how the five-cap star offers an end product, too. Tchouameni has scored two goals in 15 games for Monaco so far this season from a deep-lying role.

He only netted three in 42 games last term, plus four assists. One of those goals put Niko Kovac’s side ahead in the Coupe de France semi-final, before losing to PSG in the final. While helping France reach the U21 European Championship quarter-finals this summer.
