Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea are interested in signing Juventus target Aurelien Tchouameni, according to Tuttosport.
What’s the story?
Tuttosport are reporting that Juventus, Liverpool and Chelsea all are interested in signing Tchouameni from AS Monaco.
Ligue 1 outfit Monaco are willing to sell the France international midfielder.
Monaco reportedly want €35-40 million (£29.88-£34.15m) as transfer fee for the 21-year-old.
Juventus have been working on a deal and are trying to get a head start.
The former Italian champions reportedly expect competition and potential bids from Liverpool and Chelsea for Tchouameni.
Chelsea, Liverpool and Juventus all are big clubs, and it will be interesting to see which team Tchouameni eventually joins.
Juventus are rebuilding after failing to win the Serie A title last season and selling Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer of 2021.
Chelsea and Liverpool regularly challenge for the Premier League title and compete in the Champions League.
In fact, Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea won the Champions League last season.
Tchouameni is a France international who has established himself as one of the best young midfielders in Ligue 1.
The 21-year-old does not lack confidence either, saying in 2019 that he is in the same league as Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, as covered by HITC Sport here.
Tchouameni told RMC Sport in November 2019: “It’s always nice to be compared to Paul Pogba. He’s one of the players that I follow the most. I think we are in the same league.”
The youngster is essentially a defensive midfielder, but, like Pogba, he can play in a box-to-box role as well as a deep-lying playmaker.
