Leicester City look like they could be in some serious trouble this season, and if the Foxes do go down, the East Midlands club could be raided by a number of Premier League sides.

The likes of James Maddison, Youri Tielemans and Wilfried Ndidi are almost certain to be picked up by a top six club, and, in our view, there’s one player from Leicester that Liverpool should be having a serious look at.

We’re talking about Harvey Barnes.

The England international is a player admired by Liverpool. It was claimed last summer that the Reds had a concrete interest in Barnes, while it’s no secret that Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of the attacker, labelling him as ‘unbelievable’ in the past.

Barnes himself would be a great fit for this Liverpool team. He’s a direct winger who loves to get in behind, and while his finishing needs some finetuning, he gets into remarkable positions in the same way Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah do.

In fact, Barnes has gone on the record in the past to state that Salah is actually a player he studies alongside Heung-Min Son.

“I look at it and think ‘how many times can I get in-behind more’? said Barnes. “Making runs in-behind, I think if you look last year, with Salah and Son, the amount of goals they score.”

“I think they are two of the best in the league in running in-behind and getting them balls in dangerous positions, so for me, taking bits out of their games.

“Why are they scoring so many goals? What are they doing? And adding that to my game.”

Barnes would be a great fit for this Liverpool team, and if things don’t change soon at Leicester, he’ll surely be on the market at a cut-price fee.

Julian Ward and Jurgen Klopp should have more than half an eye on the situation at the King Power Stadium.
