Arne Slot is officially in the building at Liverpool and ready to prove his worth to the fans.
The new Liverpool boss has some serious talent to work with at Anfield, but he will still want to add in some quality via the summer transfer market.
Euro 2024 is taking centre stage right now, so domestic matters are slightly being ignored, with the Premier League fixtures for the 2024/25 campaign being released on Wednesday.
It’s Jurgen Klopp’s favourite 12:30 pm kick-off for Liverpool‘s opening game as they take on newly-promoted Ipswich Town.
No Upcoming Fixtures
Who will be lining up for Liverpool on that day? Will Saudi-linked Mohamed Salah still be at Anfield? And can the club pull off any big-name transfers?
One name who is expected to move this summer is Leeds United’s highly-rated winger, Crysencio Summerville.
Leeds suffered play-off final heartache and will now spend another campaign in England’s second tier, so that means they now have to lose a number of their top players.
Sources told HITC in April that the Reds are looking to sign Summerville this summer, but he has been told to snub a transfer to Merseyside.
Alan Pardew, who worked alongside the winger when he was at ADO Den Haag, stated that Summerville is better off moving to a team like Brighton instead, as he told talkSPORT (18/06/24 at 8:50 am).
The former Premier League boss lauded the 22-year-old’s talents, how he is fearless and compared him to Barcelona and Spain’s rising star, Lamine Yamal.
Crysencio Summerville told to join Brighton over Liverpool
“I had him at ADO Den Haag when he was there,” said Pardew. “We took him on loan. He was only like 16, 17. Such a lovely kid. He was like open. I had Alex Dyer assisting me, and we worked really hard with him to try and get him to understand what it really was, in terms of men’s football at such a young age.
“A bit like Yamal at Barcelona. Took like a duck to water. No problem. He never feared anybody and he has brought that to Leeds. What he has is over a three kind of yard spell, he has acceleration that you just can’t stay with him. And he has the technique to beat people. Obviously, once he is gone, forget it, he is gone. It’s just really his final decision that’s going to be the crux for him in terms of reaching the real higher platforms of football.
“He is definitely a Premier League player for sure. What I am saying is to get to Liverpool, I can see why they might sort of, Brighton might be a better move for him to see how he copes. Does he pick that moment? That’s the difference between having extraordinary pace and being brilliant in the Premier League is the decision-making process.”

Crysencio Summerville ready for the Premier League
The Dutchman has done all he could to try and help Leeds earn promotion, but they fell flat on their face towards the end, including not turning up for the play-off final.
Not just from a financial perspective will Leeds have to sell a player like Summerville, but he is now too good for that division.

This is just a case of how high up the Premier League he goes. Moving to Liverpool, to a team in the Champions League and expected to challenge for the title, is probably going to be too big of a jump for the player.
On paper, he is probably better off at Brighton, especially given that they develop players really well and then sell them on.
