Everton have been shaken by the departure of Carlo Ancelotti this week, but club legend Tim Cahill has sent a tweet that should reassure the fanbase.
Cahill admits that he enjoyed the time Ancelotti spent at the club, but he urged fans to remember that the team’s leader is still there in the shape of Duncan Ferguson.
We have to agree with Cahill’s point here.
It’s a real shame that Ancelotti has swapped Merseyside for Madrid, but as long as Ferguson is still there, the Toffees still have a bit of stability and direction.
Judging by certain comments, the Everton players love Ferguson, and the fact that he’s still there is a massive bonus.
The question that springs to our mind is whether or not Ferguson will be given the chance to become Everton’s next manager.

We all know how well the Scot did during his interim spell in 2019/20, and now that Ancelotti is gone, he could be given the chance to continue that good work.
Of course, there’ve been reports about Everton targeting other more high-profile managers, but Ferguson is certainly a candidate they may want to consider.
Cahill seems to have found some solace in the fact that Ferguson is still at the club, and Everton supporters should also be reassured by his presence.
