Leeds United want Hwang Hee-chan – less than a month since he caused some anger from Whites boss Jesse Marsch at Elland Road.
The Whites have needed a new striker all summer really, but have now given themselves just a matter of hours to get one in.
Deals for Charles De Ketelaere and Arnaud Kalimuendo failed to materialise as they joined AC Milan and Rennes instead.
With Rodrigo now injured, Leeds really need to bolster their attacking options – and Jesse Marsch could move for a player he knows well.
Leeds United want Hwang Hee-chan
This shouldn’t be a surprise; Leeds have already signed three players this summer who have worked with Marsch before.
Rasmus Kristensen, Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams have all played under Marsch in the past and has now decided to reunite with the American.
There could be another reunion on the cards though as reports suggest that Leeds are chasing a £20million deal for Hwang Hee-chan.
Hwang played under Marsch at Red Bull Salzburg and boasted an impressive record; 16 goals and 24 assists in just 43 games.
Marsch has now confirmed Leeds’ interest in signing the South Korean, who can play all across the front line.
Whilst a move makes sense given Hwang’s history with Marsch, the pair did actually have a run-in just a few weeks ago.
Leeds hosted Wolves on the opening weekend of the Premier League season and one incident left Marsch fuming.
Hwang went down on the touchline right in front of Marsch, holding his face after a challenge from Marc Roca despite there appearing to be minimal contact.
Marsch was apoplectic on the touchline, and The Independent even noted that Marsch and Wolves boss Bruno Lage clashed as a result of this incident.
Lage and Marsch had a war of words at full time too, with Hwang going to ground easily seemingly lighting the fuse for the pair.
The Leeds boss seemingly didn’t let it linger, embracing Hwang on the pitch at full time.
Marsch may not have liked the theatrics against him, but he still appreciates the quality Hwang can provide to a Leeds attack that needs bolstering and the Whites may now scramble to complete a late deal.
