You don’t have to go too far back in order to find when Werder Bremen last won the Bundesliga.

Spearheaded by Ailton and Johan Micoud, Bremen won the Bundesliga title in the 2003-04 season, and have been in the top flight consecutively for 40 years.

However, they met their end on Saturday afternoon as they were beaten 4-2 at home by Borussia Monchengladbach.

Bremen fall down out of the Bundesliga, and are now expected to lose a number of players as a result of their relegation.

Left back Ludwig Augustinsson is one man that could move on, with the Swedish international a solid and dependable defender.

Kicker reported in March that Augustinsson is already eyeing a summer move, as he is out of contract and wants to play in the Premier League.

Leeds allegedly dangled a move in 2020, and with Ezgjan Alioski leaving this summer, Augustinsson may make sense as a budget replacement.

Another top player expected to go is attacker Milot Rashica, with the Kosovo talent linked with Liverpool this time last year.

Fast and versatile across the attack, Rashica only scored three times this season but may well attract interest again this summer – possibly from Liverpool, who have shown in the past that they’re more than willing to sign a relegated player.
