According to ESPN, Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe is seeking a loan move away from the club, with Leeds United keen last summer.
It’s stated that Tuanzebe wants to leave Old Trafford for the coming season in order to play more regularly elsewhere.
Tuanzebe only made four Premier League starts last season, and as he approaches the age of 24, he now wants another loan move for first-team action.
Leeds United’s interest last summer
Leeds were keen on Tuanzebe last summer, targeting him as a central defensive option before eventually signing Robin Koch and Diego Llorente.
The rivalry between United and Leeds is still strong to this day, but the Whites were keen to pursue a favour from the Red Devils according to The Sun.
Another chance for Leeds
This new report now suggests that Tuanzebe could be available this summer, presenting Leeds with another chance if they want it.
Signing another centre back shouldn’t be totally ruled out for Leeds. Diego Llorente suffered some injury woes last season, whilst Robin Koch is also seen as holding midfield cover for Kalvin Phillips.
Bringing in Tuanzebe would give Leeds another centre back an option at right back, though we would of course understand if Victor Orta only wanted to focus on permanent signings for the future rather than a short-term addition like Tuanzebe.

What has been said about Tuanzebe?
Tuanzebe may be down the pecking order at United, but he has been hailed by Luke Shaw, who branded his fellow defender ‘unbelievable’ whilst suggesting that his talent is ‘frightening’.
Steve Bruce is a huge fan too, believing that Tuanzebe is ‘quick, strong and powerful’, with those attributes possibly appealing to Leeds.
If Orta really was keen last summer, then the 23-year-old may well be worth another look as Leeds seek reinforcements.
