As expected, Leeds United are being linked to quite a lot of players.
The Whites booked their Premier League return last week after a 16-year absence from the big time.
Leeds’ managing director Angus Kinnear revealed that promotion is worth nine figures to the Elland Road club, who are being linked with everybody from Argentine wonderkids to Edinson Cavani.
And now there’s new name on the reported shopping list: Manchester United’s Axel Tuanzebe.
According to The Sun [26/07, page 63], the West Yorkshire side want Tuanzebe as an alternative to Ben White, who is on loan at the club from Brighton and they may not be able to sign him permanently.
White is a massive talent and Leeds fans would love to keep him at Elland Road, but Tuanzebe is also a player with ‘frightening’ potential, according to one Red Devils team-mate.
“I think Axel is unbelievable. I think the talent he’s got is frightening. He’s strong, he’s quick, he’s energetic, he reads the game well, he’s a good passer of the ball, he’s got everything.”
That’s what Luke Shaw told his club’s official website about the 22-year-old in January of 2018.
And although he hasn’t played for United since December, being an unused sub in an FA Cup game in March, Tuanzebe still has a bright future in the game and working under a man-manager of Marcelo Bielsa’s talents, perhaps that could take him to the next level.
