Wolverhampton Wanderers are through to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

When speaking to BBC Sport, Wolves defender Richard Stearman shared the advice that both he and Dave Edwards gave the rest of the squad in the aftermath of their impressive 2-1 win at Anfield against Liverpool in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

The 29-year-old, who is currently on a season long-loan with the Black Country outfit, scored his side’s first goal against the Reds in the opening minute of the game at the weekend.

He is one of the more experienced members of Paul Lambert’s squad, along with 30-year-old Dave Edwards, and Stearman spoke to BBC Sport, sharing the message he and Edwards gave to their teammates following their inspirational victory:

“Me and Eddo [Dave Edwards] made a point of telling the boys: ‘It’s not often we’re going to be here, suck it up, and enjoy the day.’ And, in the dressing room after the game we were going round saying: ‘Remember this feeling as it’s not going to come around too often’.”

Lambert’s men must now turn their attention back to the Championship, and they have not yet given up hope of forcing their way into contention for the promotion play-off spots.

Lambert explains why he loves this Wolves player

They currently sit in 18th position in the table, but are only 13 points adrift of sixth placed Sheffield Wednesday.

And if they are to have any chance of breaking into the top six, they must embark on a sustained run of victories sooner rather than later.
