Wolverhampton Wanderers’ on-loan star Helder Costa has attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

When speaking to reporters, Wolves boss Paul Lambert discussed the current situation concerning Helder Costa, and moved to reassure fans that the club are doing everything within their power to turn the Portuguese winger’s loan move into a permanent one, as quoted by the Express & Star.

The 23-year-old moved to the Molineux Stadium from Benfica in the summer, on a season-long loan deal, and has since gone on to establish himself as a truly key member of the Wolves side.

He has made 28 appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals and registering five assists.

And Lambert shared how highly regarded Costa is at Wolves, when speaking to reporters, explaining how they will do all they can to keep him at the club for the foreseeable future, as quoted by the Express & Star:

“I think the club are trying. If the club can do something and it’s feasible, yes. It’s still early. But if you ask me as a footballer, Helder Costa is a huge talent, he’s got incredible quick feet and nine goals from wide areas is incredible. I don’t know the sums or what the figure is. It’s been brought to my attention last night.”

If the Black Country outfit do manage to keep hold of a player of Costa’s calibre, and sign him down to a permanent deal, it would be a huge statement of intent to the rest of the division, symbolising the direction in which they want to go.

And with just four days remaining until the transfer window slams shut, this will certainly be one to keep an eye on.
