Jaylen Brown’s trade to the Philadelphia 76ers has led to a concerning warning from Kevin Garnett.
For the first time in a decade, Jaylen Brown will wear an NBA jersey other than the Boston Celtics after getting traded to the Philadelphia 76ers.
The reactions have been mixed, with some believing that the Celtics made a mistake by parting ways with the 2024 NBA Finals MVP, including franchise legend Kevin Garnett.

During a recent episode of the KG Certified podcast, the 2008 NBA champion discussed how the C’s will be impacted by the Brown trade, and it seemed like a warning to the 18-time NBA champs.
“It’s like Minnesota kicking themselves over the KAT trade. I think Boston gonna look back on this. It’s like when KD left Golden State, and then he turned around like, ‘What the f___?’
“This is one of the moments where you don’t break a great thing up. This is a great thing,” Garnett said.
He added, “Those two have been tested through time. So this is just a relationship; it ain’t always going to be great. It would have to be something detrimental for me to break that up.”
Indeed, both the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves ultimately regretted parting ways with Kevin Durant and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Brown finished last season with 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game, and it won’t be easy for the Celtics to replicate his production in the 2026-27 season.
