Kasey Keller has backed Tyler Adams to stay at Leeds United this summer despite transfer interest from Premier League teams.

The former USA goalkeeper added that he ‘doesn’t mind’ Tyler Adams playing in the Championship for Leeds United and he doesn’t think it will harm his chances on the international stage, as he told ESPN

The 24-year-old was named the USMNT captain at the 2022 Qatar World Cup and he is a key figure and member of his national team.

Even though Leeds suffered relegation from the Premier League last season, someone like Adams was one of very few who could hold his head up high.

He missed the final few months of the campaign through injury and that really harmed his side’s chances of survival.

But now those in the Premier League are eager to take him on board, including Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, with Keller backing him to stay at Elland Road and get the team promoted.

“I still don’t mind Tyler Adams staying at Leeds,” said Keller. “I don’t have a problem with that. I don’t mind him playing 50 games if he has a couple of cup runs and get that club back promoted. I have no problem with that, whatsoever.

On Adams still staying in the national team, as a result of staying in the Champ: “Yes, no problem.”

Adams would fly in the Championship

Yes, it wouldn’t be a signing, but it would be the best deal or decision the club makes this summer and that’s keeping hold of Adams.

The hard-hitting American would thrive in the second-tier and Daniel Farke’s chances of earning promotion would increase by big margins.

As of this moment, he is returning from injury, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if this transfer story perhaps goes to the final few of the summer window.
