Gary Neville has said on Sky Sports Premier League (4:38pm, September 12, 2021) that Leeds United left-back Junior Firpo learned after just eight minutes how good Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is.
Leeds took on Liverpool at Elland Road in the Premier League yesterday.
Junior was the left-back for the Whites, while Salah started on the right for Liverpool.
Former Manchester United defender Neville was on co-commentary duty for the match on Sky Sports, and he noticed how Junior – signed from Barcelona in the summer transfer window – was struggling against Salah.
Neville said on Sky Sports Premier League (4:38pm, September 12, 2021): “He has just learned in the first eight minutes how strong Mo Salah is. He is trying to get tight to him. He has been rolled twice.”
How did Junior Firpo and Mo Salah play?
Leeds suffered a 3-0 defeat to Liverpool, although they played most of the second half with 10 men.
Salah scored his 100th Premier League goal in the game and was a problem for the Leeds defenders throughout his time on the pitch.

Firpo really struggled against the pace and skills of Salah and could not handle him much.
However, the left-back did look good when he went forward and helped out in attacks.
Junior took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 83.3%, took 58 touches, attempted one dribble, made three tackles, one interaction and one clearance, and put in one cross.
