According to Loïc Tanzi, Wolves are now in advanced talks to sign Thimothée Lo-Tutala after he was released by Tottenham.

What’s the story?

Well, Antonio Conte surprisingly decided to let the 19-year-old leave Spurs a few weeks ago.

Lo-Tutala had built a strong reputation for himself in north London, winning 14 caps for the France Under-19 side, while the teenager was also involved in first-team action for Tottenham earlier this year.

The Frenchman travelled to Leeds and Burnley with the first-team to deputise for Hugo Lloris, after Pierluigi Gollini suffered an illness.

For whatever reason, Tottenham decided not to extend Lo-Tutala’s contract, and Wolves are now looking to take advantage of the situation.

Tanzi – a journalist for L’Equipe – now believes the glovesman is close to moving to Molineux.

In our view, a deal will not be complicated to do if Lo-Tutala favours a move to Wolves, given the fact he is a free agent.

Wolves just need to agree personal terms with the shot-stopper, and hope he passes a medical in the Midlands.

In his final season at Tottenham, Lo-Tutala made 12 appearances in all competitions, keeping six clean sheets.

Tottenham trash could be Wolves treasure

In our view, Tottenham may have made a mistake in allowing Lo-Tutala to leave.

By the sounds of it, the youngster is a very, very bright goalkeeping prospect, who could go on to do big things in football.

Of course, Tottenham had no immediate need for Lo-Tutala, with a World Cup winning goalkeeper in Hugo Lloris already at Conte’s disposal.

However, when the 35-year-old eventually retires, Spurs don’t really have any young options waiting in the wings.

Fraser Forster – aged 34 – was signed to deputise for Lloris, given the lack of reliable goalkeeping options left at Spurs after Gollini’s loan expired.

Lo-Tutala looks to be a star in the making, and if he goes on to shine at Wolves, Tottenham will surely feel a little bit embarrassed.
