Speculation is rife that Liverpool are interested in signing Christian Pulisic from Chelsea this summer.

The Anfield outfit are going to need an additional wide man amid increasing rumours that Sadio Mane is leaving Merseyside for one of Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.

The Daily Mail have reported that Liverpool are keen on the Chelsea attacker who, according to the same publication, is growing frustrated with life at Stamford Bridge.

Thomas Tuchel voluntarily selling to a massive Premier League rival seems a long shot, but it would appear as if the rumour is accurate.

That’s because Christian Falk, a reliable journalist for Bild, confirmed on Twitter that Liverpool want the USA international.

This is the same reporter who consistently predicted that Jurgen Klopp would be signing Thiago Alcantara in the summer of 2020, even when more regional publications like The Echo regularly stated that there was nothing to the talk about the Spainard going to Anfield.

Can Pulisic replace Mane at Liverpool?

Well, the former Borussia Dortmund attacker is obviously a big talent and someone who Liverpool wanted even before he joined Chelsea.

However, his statistics are relatively lukewarm.

Pulisic has managed only 19 goals and eight assists in 74 Premier League outings for the Blues, which isn’t a horrible return by any means, but Klopp will need a lot more productivity out of him.

That’s because Mane has been one of the Premier League’s most devastating attackers since joining Liverpool from Southampton back in 2016.

Having said that, Pulisic is only 23 and a man-manager of Klopp’s talents could potentially bring him to the next level.

However, whether Chelsea sell to a rival remains to be seen.
